The DFA Awards Design Dialogue in Japan was a great success yesterday. Thank you for the support and participation!
Themed on “Design Steers Spiritual Indulgence”, moderator Akiyo Takada invited speakers Shogo Kishino from 6D-K co., Ltd and Hiromi Komiyama from HEREDIA KOMIYAMA to talk about their design projects inspired by ancient belief and the love of nature.
Mr Kishino illustrated how he started the design of 'Izumo Taisha Saitama Branch Rebranding Project' by studying the history and tradition, also by visiting the Izumo in person to feel the spirit there.
Ms Komiyama shared that Kikiki was created with an idea to allow people experiencing wood, from a brand new angle by its sound and scent, instead of just its texture or form.
During the panel discussion, both speakers shared their thought on how to strike a balance between inheritance and innovation; also the reason why they participated in the DFA Design for Asia Awards.
